Slice of Pink

A little pink never hurt

November Favorites

Monthly FavoritesBrittany Rice

November has been a bit chilly here in Texas, which means bring on the White Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks! Overall it has been a successful month for finding favorites that will keep me toasty and hydrated. Here are a few of my favorite things from the month of November.

Check Mate Cardigan - x

I bought this cardigan about two weeks ago and I feel like I have been wearing it everyday since! This piece of clothing has found its way into being my favorite this month — and will probably continue to during the rest of this season. I love how easily you can dress up this cardigan while also staying comfortable and warm. The neutral color helps make it easy to pair with a bunch of different outfits as well. I highly recommend either stopping by your local Impeccable Pig or grab it on their online store.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Face Mask

These have always been my go-to mask when I’m needing to hydrate my face. Since it’s starting to get colder outside, my already dry skin has been desperate for anything that moisturizes. These face masks have been an absolute life savor. The mask has been helping my dry patches be less of an annoyance. There is a reason they call them Hydro Boost!

Caution - Mariah Carey

This album gives such a throwback feeling to the 2000s sound while still keeping it fresh and new. This album has quickly become something that I cannot stop listening to. If you haven’t listened to it yet, I highly suggest giving it a try! My favorite songs off the album have got to be Giving Me Life, Portrait, and A No No.

LM5 - Little Mix

This has become my favorite album that Little Mix has released. It’s so different from their other albums and really deserves some spotlight action. The songs I gravitate towards the most are Strip, Wasabi, and Told You So.

Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps - Garlic Parmesan

I could not resist putting these on my November favorites. It feels like I have gone through a bag a week. It’s mainly the garlic parmesan flavor has me addicted. Anytime I pass it in a grocery store I end up buying a new bag. It’s safe to say that I HIGHLY recommend getting these.

Let me know what are some of your favorite products from this month! I would love to try out new things.

Four Staple Pieces to Have in Any Wardrobe

FashionBrittany Rice

Some people tend to have a harder time when it comes to them wanting to be “trendy” or “fashionable”. We have also all been at the point where we stare at our closet for a long period of time trying to decide what to wear. Here are four of my favorite staple clothing pieces for my wardrobe:

The Blazer:

Blazers are such a fun item to just throw on top of anything. My favorite type of blazer has to be the slouchy boyfriend fit. It makes it to where it is not super business-lady but still gives a nice sleek look to an outfit. Not only does it give any outfit a chic look to it, but it is still super comfortable! The other good thing about a blazer is that you can dress it up or down. My favorite way is to throw it on top of jeans and a graphic t-shirt paired with your favorite bootie, heels or sneaker. For a night out on the town you can wear it over a lacy bodysuit with a pair of slacks or jeans. A simple black blazer (x) will go with anything, and is probably the safest for those not looking to step out of their comfort zone. If you are wanting to step a little out of your comfort zone but aren’t fully ready to commit, then I suggest a black blazer with a velvet touch (x). The velvet will give your look a little texture while still staying simple. Even though the pink blazer (x) isn’t “out there” it is still a little more than the velvet or the simple black. My favorite part about the pink is the feminine touch it will add.

Bootie Heaven:

Booties are the perfect staple shoe, especially for the fall and winter season. You can just about pair booties with anything. Whether you have them peeking out of your wide legged pants or showing them off over your jeans, it’s a must have. Booties are a great way to add a little height while still staying comfortable. If you wanted to you could probably walk a couple miles in these and still feel perfectly fine. Black booties (x) are an essential item piece. They will match every outfit while keeping it sleek. What I like about the red (x) is how fierce they would look on. Just adding them to black jeans and a plain white t-shirt would add a lot of life to the outfit. If there was one item for you to grab off this list, I would highly suggest booties.

Blouses are a great way to dress up an outfit only just slightly. It also gives such a classic look. All you really need to do is throw a loose fitting blouse over a pair of jeans and your outfit is complete. What I like about button-up blouses (x)(x) is that you get to manipulate the shirt to look of your choice. You can unbutton a few at the top to give it an off the shoulder vibe or unbutton at the bottom and tie it. You can also add a lace body suit underneath for a night out. Blouses that are already tied (x) are also great since the job is already done for you. Silk blouses are great not only in pictures but also in giving a look a chic touch. The easiness of owning a blouse is why it makes for a great staple clothing item for your closet.

Fun Dress Pants:

Dress pants don’t have to be just for work activities. They are also great for every day wear. Any of the pants above would look perfect with just a plain t-shirt. Yes, it really is that easy with making dress pants more day-to-day. With the Burgundy front-zip pants (x), I would pair it with a chunky sweater and black booties. With patterned pants (x), like the checked ones in the middle, I typically like to just wear plain shirts or blouses with them. Topshop is for sure my top place to get dress pants from. For fit I prefer to get pants that are more flared because they make legs appear longer than they are.

Hope you were to find the useful when it comes to expanding your wardrobe. It sure has helped me to narrow down what key items work for me the most, it saves a lot of time too. Let me know some of your staple clothing items!

Ride or Die Products

Makeup, ReviewsBrittany Rice

Ride or die products are so tough to pull away from using. I always find it hard to try new products because I am constantly referring back to products that I live and breath for. Here are a few of my ride or die products that make life easier:

Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Setting Powder:

I’ve only been using this powder for a couple months, but it has quickly become my favorite setting powder. Before I got hooked on the Too Faced powder I was using the Laura Mercier translucent powder religiously. The Laura Mercier powder was my ride or die for years. When I last ran out of it I decided to try out something new. The Too Faced powder caught my eye once I heard that it gave a luminous finish. I have super dry skin so hearing this excited me. The Born This Way powder does not exaggerate my dry patches and gives my skin a healthy glow.

Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb:

Over the past year I’ve been on a gloss binge and the Fenty Gloss Bomb killed the game. This Fenty gloss gives a wet look to your lips without being sticky or goopy. I bought this in the shade Fenty Glow and it goes with everything. It is such an easy lip gloss to just throw on with any look. Sometimes on my no makeup days I’ll just pop this on. There was a time in my life where I thought I lost the original bottle I bought, so I bought another one. A couple weeks later I then found the original in a random purse that has not been used in months. I took this as a blessing and officially had a purse gloss and an at home gloss. It is safe to say that I am ~slightly~ obsessed with this gloss.

Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette:

I tend to be pretty good when it comes to rotating my eyeshadow palettes. I like to switch it up at least once a month just so I can give all my palettes some loving. Every time I start using the Tartelette in Bloom palette it tends to stay for a solid two months. It is such an easy everyday palette. My favorite thing about this palette is that it makes transitioning from day to night super easy. This palette is also great for beginners since every row can be an eyeshadow look. It’s perfect for traveling, since it does have a variety of neutral looks in it. If there is one thing from the list to pick up I would highly recommend this one!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer:

I have been using this concealer for about 5 years now and I have yet to find another to blow my breath away. I have tried other concealers but I also gravitate back to this one. Most concealers tend to look too heavy and dry under my eyes except for this one. It gives me a fresh radiant look while still giving me medium to full coverage. It’s very lightweight and build-able as well. I will more than likely be using this concealer until the day I die.

Let me know what your ride or die products are!

See you next week, XO
